Welcome and thank you for visiting the Prichard Fire-Rescue Department! We hope that your visit to this site will help you learn who we are and what we do. The men and women of the Prichard Fire-Rescue Department are proud of being part of this community and providing the necessary services - fire suppression, rescue, prevention, emergency medical and disaster preparedness. We work hard to serve, protect and help maintain a high quality of life for everyone who lives, works and visits our city. Hopefully, you will never need our emergency services, but if you do, we will respond with a fast, professional, well-trained and courteous team to answer
your call for assistance.

Biography - Chief Frederick Chambers:
Fire Chief Frederick Chambers is a 30 year veteran of the City of Prichard Fire and Rescue Department. He was hired by the City of Prichard as a rookie firefighter in the month of July 1984, and he has worked his way up the ranks. He was promoted to the Fire Apparatus Driver and was a Fire Service Captain for 10 years. In March of 2000, he was called upon to replace the retiring Fire Service Marshal. After serving in this interim capacity for 27 months, Chief Chambers was promoted to the permanent rank of Fire Service Marshal in June of 2002. On April 8th, 2013, Chief Chambers was again called upon and appointed to serve as Inerim Fire Chief for the City of Prichard. He has served the citizens of Prichard in that capacity until October 18th, 2014, at which time he was promoted to the permanent rank of Fire Service Chief.

Chief Chambers is a 1977 graduate of Toulminville High School (currently Le Flore High School) in Mobile, Alabama. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged. He is the proud father of one (1) daughter and two (2) sons, and the proud grandfather of five (5).

The mission of the Prichard Fire/Rescue Department is to support and protect life, property and the environment through effective administration of services directed at mitigation, prevention and control of fires, accidents and other emergencies, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and effectiveness.
