PRICHARD OUTDOORS WARNING SYSTEM

Mobile County Emergency Management Agency and Officials in the City of Prichard have installed a new outdoor warning siren system in the city.  It is located at the intersection of Main Street and Bessemer Avenue, near I-65. The purpose of the outdoor siren warning system is to alert residents outside of their home, school, business, etc. of potential danger. The siren will be sounded whenever a tornado warning is issued for the City of Prichard. It may be activated for other life threatening situations, which require emergency preparedness response actions.  Upon hearing the siren, citizens should immediately tune in to local radio or television stations for information concerning the siren activation.

The range for the system extends to approximately one mile.  The City of Prichard has another siren system located on East Clark Street, near Wilson Avenue.
