Happy Hoilday’s, as you see im still working for the citizens

I wanted to take a moment to share some amazing news with all of you. Today, we are honoring a true hero in our community – Dorothy Campbell Stallworth.

After residing on Smiley Avenue for an incredible 68 years, the street will now be renamed as Dorothy Campbell Stallworth Avenue. This is a well-deserved tribute to an incredible woman who has made a lasting impact on Prichard.

Dorothy Campbell Stallworth has been an integral part of our community for over 75 years. She attended Whistler Elementary School and graduated from Cedar Grove Academy. But her love for learning didn’t stop there. After her six daughters graduated from college, she went back to school herself and earned an associate degree from Bishop State Junior College.

Dorothy is passionate about making a difference in our city. She has dedicated her time to improving the quality of life for all of us. As a volunteer for the Mobile County Democratic Executive Committee (MCDEC), she has been an instrumental force in mobilizing volunteers, collecting donations, and helping run successful campaign operations.

Her impact can also be seen on a national level. Dorothy actively participated in the successful presidential campaign of President Barack Obama in 2008. She played a crucial role in the election of Doug Jones, who became the first Democrat to represent Alabama in the U.S. Senate in over two decades. During the 2018 midterm elections, Dorothy once again served as a vital member of the Mobile County Democrat Executive Committee.

Apart from her political involvement, Dorothy is an active member of the Mobile County Branch of the NAACP, the Red Hat Society, and Bethel A.M.E. Church. She has devoted her time and energy in serving various ministries at St. James A.M.E. Church in Prichard prior to joining Bethel A.M.E. Church.

What makes Dorothy’s legacy truly inspiring is the way it has influenced her children and grandchildren. Her servant attitude and commitment to community service have been passed down through generations, creating a ripple effect of positive change in our community.

Today, as we celebrate Dorothy Campbell Stallworth’s achievements, let us remember the impact that an individual can have. Let her story inspire each one of us to serve our community, to be agents of change, and to strive for greatness.

Congratulations once again to Dorothy Campbell Stallworth on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for being an exemplary role model and a true inspiration to us all.
