STATEMENT FROM MAYOR DAVIS:
“Today, I would like to address the off-duty Prichard Police officer-involved shooting which occurred today.
I first want to note that this remains an active and ongoing investigation. As the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the City of Mobile, the Mobile Police Department is the lead investigative agency. The Prichard Police Department is in direct communication with MPD and will continue to cooperate fully and provide assistance as appropriate.
We can confirm that a female individual was injured in the incident and has, tragically, succumbed to her injuries. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all those impacted by this devastating loss. This is an incredibly difficult situation, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.
In order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, we will not comment on specific details at this time. The City of Prichard remains committed to transparency, accountability, and ensuring that the proper investigative procedures are followed.
We respectfully ask for patience and understanding from the community as the investigative process moves forward.”
