Amnesty Period
March 1, 2026 – March 30, 2026
Program Purpose
Encourage voluntary compliance among businesses that are delinquent in license fees
Assist businesses with unpaid balances from the previous two license cycles
Remove financial barriers by waiving penalties and interest
Strengthen the City’s economic base through improved compliance
Who Is Eligible
Businesses behind on City of Prichard business license fees for the past two years
Businesses with unpaid license balances from the previous two license periods
Businesses with accumulated penalties or interest on delinquent fees
Businesses that ceased operations within the past two years but still have unresolved license obligations
Amnesty Benefits
Waiver of all penalties and interest on past-due license fees
Opportunity to establish approved payment arrangements
Temporary suspension of enforcement actions during the amnesty period
Important Notes
Base license fees and applicable taxes must still be paid
Applications and payments must be submitted by March 30, 2026
How Businesses Can Apply
Businesses must:
- Submit a Business License Application or Renewal Form
- Provide required documentation
- Pay the principal balance or enter an approved payment plan
- Resolve any outstanding compliance issues

Post-Program Enforcement
After March 30, 2026:
- Penalties and interest will be reinstated
- Enforcement actions will resume
- Citations and possible closure actions may occur for non-compliant businesses
