The mission of the Prichard Fire/Rescue Department is to support and protect life, property and the environment through effective administration of services directed at mitigation, prevention and control of fires, accidents and other emergencies, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and effectiveness.

The Fire Prevention division has the responsibility of enforcement of fire codes, city ordinances and planning.
