  • Does the City of Prichard have a zoning ordinance?
         Yes
  • When is a permit required?
         When the job cost is over $100.00 or more (painting, carpet installation are excluded)
  • Alabama Power has told me that I need an inspection to get my power on. What do I need to do?
          You need to purchase a six month permit at a cost of $20.00. We will give you a list of requirements you will also      have to meet.
  • What is a six month investigation?
          A six month investigation is an inspection where the power has been disconnected for a period of six months or      more and an inspection of the structure is required before electrical service can be restored.
  • How much time in advance is needed for an inspection?
          At least 24 hours.
  • How much are your permit fees?
          The permit fees are based upon the valuation of the job.
  • Does the City have a Sign Ordinance?
         Yes
  • How much are the fees for a sign permit?
          The sign permit fees are $1.00 per square footage of signage.
  • What type of permits can a homeowner purchase?
          A building permit (for new construction, repairs, additions, etc.).
  • When does a permit expire?
         A permit expires (1) year after purchase date.
